Brian Cullen was born in North Vancouver, BC, in 1973. He has lived for extended periods in Quebec, as well as the Central Kootenay region of British Columbia. He currently resides on the unceded, traditional lands of the shíshálh First Nation, in xwesam (Roberts Creek, BC).
